Navajas
The town contains several opulent Villas – Navajas became quite wealthy many years ago, when the large number of Natural Springs around the town became well-known – but the main attraction is a River walk which takes in many of the Springs, as well as a dramatic valley, which the River has cut out, with bathing pools, and a high waterfall (El Salto de la Novia), which drops over the edge of the gorge, and into the river.
There are signs all over town to the Tourist Office – but the office itself has no sign outside! Look for the Museo, in the main square (which has a huge Elm tree) – the Tourist Office is in the basement. They have English-language guides to the various walking routes around the town and along the river.
During Summer weekends, and for almost the whole of August, there are usually families here, picnicking and swimming in the river near to the waterfall.
